If you have been anywhere near social media in the last couple of weeks, you may have come across the news that Kanye West has become a Christian. The first thing that I believe that we should remember is to praise the Lord for taking this soldier for His kingdom. The other thing is to beware the doubt that can creep into our minds when we hear a celebrity or politician profess the name of Christ. I understand caution, but only God knows the hearts of man:
"7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” - 1 Samuel 16:7.
What should we do then? The answer lies in Galatians:
"Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load." - Galatians 6: 1-5.
The first thing to do is to pray for our brother Kanye. He is truly on an elevated platform. For him to do this kind of 180, this should earn support from the Church as he is an island alone in the midst of Hollywood, which has a reputation for being a modern day Babylon. But we aren't to just turn a blind eye, as we are called to hold him accountable and encourage him in the way he should go.

West knows this:
"Stand up for my home
Even if I take this walk alone
I bow down to the King upon the throne
My life is His, I'm no longer my own
I pray to God that He'll strengthen my hand
They will think twice steppin' onto my land
I draw the line, it's written in the sand
Try me and you will see that I ain't playin'
Now, back up off my family, move your hands
I got my weapons in the spirit's land
I, Jezebel don't even stand a chance
Jezebel don't even stand a chance"
- "Closed on Sunday", Kanye West
If you have time, I would recommend listening to his "Jesus is King" album to hear the testimony of one of the most recent converts to the kingdom.
